Hey readers,
On Wednesday Apple have a Keynote presentation and so I thought it would be interesting to make a list of things I want when they announce the iPad 3. So here it goes this is what I want from the Keynote:
Retina Display
This is 99% surely to happen (although Apple are often in the 1%) and I think it will be a game changer. If retina is announced I'm sure graphics art on the iPad will really take off and that can only be a good thing. I already have an art app called Procreate and I'm drawing exciting stuff on it, but just imagine if there was a retina display...
A6 Chips
The iPad 2 is fast, but imagine if it was faster. The A6 chip would also make the iPad more powerful and so apps that require a lot of power will function more smoothly. I don't see Apple not putting them in as they want to stay ahead of the competition and by doing this they'll be lightyears ahead!
Siri
This would be cool! It makes sense and it would be easy to market, just look at the iPhone 4S adverts. I want to be able to tell Siri to set reminders from my iPad or send an iMessage message to a friend without having to leave the app I'm on. Siri is in the beta stage so I think Apple can get away with not putting it in at launch, perhaps when IOS 6 comes out they can implement it into all their IOS devices.
Battery Life
The iPad 2 has 10 hours of battery life, it's got a better battery than the Macbook Air. That's impressive and it would be a shame if that was reduced. Hopefully, with all of the updates Apple introduce the battery life won't be sacrificed.
iWork's Update
I use pages, numbers and keynote nearly everyday. I do all my school work on it and I think that a major update that made it even more powerful would be great. Also if rumours about Microsoft trying to port their Office Suite to iPad is true than Apple updating iWork's will help it stay ahead. Also the thing hasn't had a major update since '09.
Creative Focus
The original iPad was deemed a consumption device, not a creation one. With the iPad 2 things got a lot better. The iPad 2 is already really good with iWork, Garageband, iMovie and the host of art apps. But lets be honest... it could be better. Art apps suffer in that the good ones have set canvas sizes, Garageband could have more instruments, etc. Hopefully at the Keynote Apple show a real focus on making the iPad even more productive than it already is.
